Abstract
The pandemic of COVID-19 has caused the expansion of the epidemic in Taiwan, and vaccination is one of the effective ways to prevent the disease. Therefore, it is important to enhance the health literacy of the public regarding vaccine information. In this study, 113 Taitung citizens were surveyed. The results of the study revealed that: (a) Despite the Taitung residents have a understanding of basic COVID-19 knowledge, they do not have enough knowledge of the onset date or incubation period of COVID-19 ; (b) Conscious health had a positive significant effect on epidemic prevention self-efficacy, and conscious health and epidemic prevention self-efficacy both had a positive significant effect on COVID-19 literacy ; (c) Epidemic prevention self-efficacy had a fully mediated effect on the effect of COVID-19 knowledge on COVID-19 literacy, and a partially mediated effect on the effect of conscious health on COVID-19 literacy. Based on the above results, this study finally provides recommendations to the residents and government.
